George Mendoza of Las Cruces, a legally blilnd painter and visionary artist, exhibits "George Mendoza: Touching the Sun" at the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center now through August 23rd. An Author, athlete, artist, and motivational speaker declared to be a state treasure by NM Governor Bill Richardson, Mendoza's show features works that reveal the moods and creative journey of this remarkable man. The Carlsbad Museum and Art Center, 418 W. Fox St. open Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m--5:00 p.m.
